My DS finally arrived at the dealers, needs a new windshield, it got a small chip on the way. Luckily the dealer always carries a windshield in stock (guess is not the first time). My salesman was not aware that it was arriving, the new delivery people Newmar is using did not notify him.

This is an issue I have when order a Newmar coach. Does any other manufacturer charge for windshield protection? I said to one sales person, "Seriously! Why would I pay to insure the windshield on a coach I don't yet own"? What's next, charging for paint protection from chips or damage during delivery? Most dealers aren't gonna press the issue.

You don’t own it when they put it on. You just pay for it when you give them the $$. $80 is MSRP. Take 25-30% off and it’s less than $50. If that saves me and the dealer time and hassle of replacing a windshield, I’m fine with that... I’ve already read several on this thread that had chipped windshield. You can always negotiate w the seller dealer to have them pay for it too.

We picked ours up last week. Several minor issues, one not so minor, and two disappointments. The day of the test drive I discovered a pool of coolant under the coach near the DEF tank. Since Newmar is not an authorized FL service center, we had to drive it to a FL shop in Elkhart to be worked on (disappointment #1). They got us in and out of there in 1/2 a day. We left the following morning for the trip home, with an overnight stop enroute. I discovered my coolant level was low while overnighting (disappointment #2). Picked up a couple of gallons of coolant and used a full gallon topping it off every couple of hours the rest of the way. So, we have to continue to sort that out. Other than that, we are happy with what we have.
