What's interesting is that when I put the 2018 4327 on RVTrader, I got a call from the dealer I bought it from, Dick Gore in Jacksonville FL and my salesperson was Andrea. She called me because in the interim she moved from sales to purchasing within the company, and that it is now called Camper's inn. She said they were low on inventory a needed a coach like mine! They flew a driver to Vail AZ and gave me a check. Great timing because we usually store the coach for the winters here, but our space was no longer available, and I was scrambling for a storage space.

BTW, I bought from Dick Gore because when we headed east from AZ to Maine with the 2017 4018, we had problems with the window shades. We called just about every dealer on our route and no one was willing to take us in because we hadn't bought from them, and they were busy. When I called Dick Gore they said sure, bring it in when you get here. We did, and their service was excellent. I told them I was so impressed that I'd buy my next coach from them, and I did. Unfortunately with the change in management, I didn't find their new sales department quite as competitive as they used to be this year, plus I would have to drive from AZ to FL in the Jeep to pickup the new coach. Las Vegas NIRVC is only 7 hours away... No brainer.

Hoping that the Camper's Inn still has their awesome maintenance team in JAX should we need them.

Mountain Aire Pick Up Update

We picked up our Mountain Aire 4118 in Nappanee last week!

We had an amazing experience with the service team and Gene our host/magic maker for the week. It was really a perfect experience. We had amazing training and they were so willing and quick to respond to every reasonable request. We would absolutely do it again.

Our coach is beautiful! Such a relief given we did everything remotely with pictures. Whew!

We left Nappanee Friday arriving at our Riverbend lot in Florida Monday morning. The coach performed beautifully with one exception. Day 3 (a particularly long day) we noticed a substantial amount of oil on the back of the coach and all over our TOAD.

Mike our Newmar Brand Specialist was quick to respond late Sunday evening and put our minds at ease with a clear plan for the next day. The oil levels were good and the oil pressure and temp were fine so we were good to make the 50 mile trip to our final destination.

Mike (Newmar), Dave (Spartan) and Cummins (reps, technicians and engeneiers) have been so incredibly responsive and working exceptionally well together and with us. If you have to go through this type of experience you want it to go this way.

It appears the oil was over filled and the overflow was exiting the crankshaft breather tube. They drained the excess oil off, cleaned everything up and took it for a test drive. There was still a small amount of leaking which the tech and Cummin engineers believe to be residual from the overfill. They are taking the valve assembly apart tomorrow to confirm the theory. Assuming no further work is needed.

The Cummins service center in Ft Myers is not equipped for campers so we are currently in a hotel and hoping to get back to our coach tomorrow.

Will update once we know for sure the cause and outcome. In the meantime, be sure to check the oil level when you pick up your coach and have them drain off excess oil.

Here are some pics of finished coach Mayford (a combination of our Dad’s names. They both taught us to be independent, curious explorers at a time when that was not traditional. They basically, set us up with the best tools for success and are so very much the foundation of who we are as people. This RV adventure is in their memory) Mayford is beautiful!

Gorgeous coach! Is that the gloss or matte finish on your glazed wicker cabinets?
Congratulations!

We sold our 2018 4327 in October and ordered a DSDP 4328. Then 2 months later our house in Maine sold, after being on the market for 3 years, so we called NIRVC and they agreed to change our order to a London Aire. Our order was placed 14 January so we haven't heard anything back from the factory yet. We leave our home in southern Arizona end of May (hopefully) to escape the summer heat, so hoping it will be ready by then.
Our first coach was a FPU in Nappanee. Our experience was a 5 on a scale of 1-10, but that was us.
We moved from the 4018 to the 4327 because of the small half bath in the 4018, and the angled kitchen in the 4327. We put 20k miles on the 4018, and 40k miles on the 4327. It's a long way from Northern Maine to Southern Arizona and we did that and more, twice a year, going round the Gaspé in Quebec where my ancestors are from, and down to Key West.
Now we join the "anxious crowd" for the 3rd time. Great to be part of the clan again! Thoroughly enjoy everyone's posts and pics... Keep 'em coming!

Hey Bill, Semper Fi, and welcome back aboard the crazy train. These are the longest days of our lives as we anticipate the upcoming trip to the mothership. Sixty-nine days, or sixty-eight and a wake up...not that I’m counting or anything.

All right! I’ve been living vicariously thru you and have been anticipating this post. He’s a handsome coach, and your story about his name is such a wonderful tribute to good fathers. You folks are doing it right. A beautiful brand new coach and a lot at Riverbend. Can life get any better?

Thanks so much Bill. We did the matte finish on the cabinets and are really glad we did with this color. It really brings out the tones of the wood. Our New Aire had the Sable maple finish in high Gloss which was perfect for that color.

Thank you so very much!! You have said it well. It is a great life and we feel very fortunate to have these opportunities. I am so excited to see the upcoming round of pics from your coach. Not too long now for you...though it still feels like an eternity doesn’t it?

67 days and a wakeup.

Had we not taken FPU, it probably could be picked up at my dealership in less than 30 days from now. But, I have always said that if I was ever fortunate enough to purchase a new MH, I would go the FPU route.

Are y’all back in your coach now?

2021 Deliveries Thread

You will not be disappointed with FPU. The factory techs are more knowledgeable and more capable to fix a problem even before you arrive. I was told that ours was sent back to production twice to address issues after our delivery tech took it for a drive. That would probably not happen at a dealership. It was our fifth coach but still a learning experience.

Hahahaha! Indeed! After having experienced FPU now I would do it in a heartbeat again. I think you will be so pleased with the experience!

We are momentarily back in the coach. They cleaned everything up, took the valve cover off and cleaned it up, tested crankshaft pressures (which are fine) and it is still showing a small leak. So we take it back this morning and they are going to put a new valve cover on to see if that helps. They are skeptical that it will ...unfortunately. Which they say means they have to take more of the engine apart. At that point it becomes a multi week issue. :( Keeping our finger crossed anyway that today’s part replacement does the trick. :(

Hoo boy. I’m really sorry to read of these troubles. I’ll keep fingers crossed for you. It will get better. At least you are in FL.

Our Ventana was supposed to come off the line today but didn't. We were told it was not quite complete. Waiting to see what the hold up is still.

Thanks so much USMCRET. The great news is that the valve cover replacement seems to have worked. Yeah! After they replaced it and we drove it about 2 hrs we had no leaking. It has also not leaked while sitting either They suspect there was a defect in the baffle (seen below). The good news is there was one existing valve cover in the country ...and even the reality of its existence was unclear as two different systems showed two different availability statuses.... but the Cummins center made lots of calls to confirm it and get it shipped to us.

So all seems to be well we are stationary for a bit now so will take it out again in a few weeks to test again but everything is looking good.

I can’t say enough about how well everyone worked together to address this issue. (Newmar, Spartan, Cummins) they were all very engaged with each other and us. It made a frustrating start so much more manageable and gave us quite a bit of confidence back.

We experienced similar delays and it was so very disappointing but they were soon forgotten as the day neared and definitely by the first day of pickup.

Hopefully you will get clarity soon.🤞
