2022 Dutch Star Bathroom Floor Hot

Our new Dutch Star rear bathroom floor panel gets hot on it's own. When plugged into shore power or running the generator the floor gets so hot you can't stand on it. It has done this since we drove it off the lot. At first we thought it was obviously the engine heat. It's hot days after the coach has been run. It's not engine heat. The only part of the floor that gets hot is the removable framed in bathroom floor panel.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

What is below that area? Any floor heat elements that perhaps are working overtime?

Sounds like your floor heat is on high.

Is your engine pre-heat on?

The oasis is under the mid bath and that will add heat to that area. Go down to the unit in the bay, look to the right on the wall and you will see a silver control box. There is a switch on the top of that. Make sure it is in the off position. That is a bypass switch is a pump fails.

If I read the OP correctly he said rear bath. Also stated it is only the section of floor that is engine access so not the rear floor heating system. Sounds like you need to pull up the access panel and take a look. Or get it back to the dealer.

If the rear floor is getting hot, go to your monitor see what the electric amps are pulling. Then go to the breaker panel and turn on the breaker for the floor heat. See if the amps drop down. If they do, they have the relay for the floor heat miswired. We have run into that a couple of times this year. Contact your selling dealer or NIRVC for any service needs.

If it's only the engine access panel sure seems the engine pre-heat or block heater is on. This area is not heated by floor heat.

I also lean towards engine pre heat on. Your statement about “This area is not heated by floor heat” is not accurate. I believe in 2021 Newmar added floor heat to this area as well as the bedroom slide portion. If there could by a wiring issue for just floor heat on that portion then that could very well be the issue.

The above sure sounds like the issue. An engine block heater will not heat the engine hot enough to radiate that type of heat to the floor. Remember there is a metal engine cover a few inches below the tile floor, that blocks engine heat.

The Engine block heater is not on. Disconnecting that was the first thing I tried. The floor heater is not on. The framed in floor panel in the rear bath has it's own heating element. Ours is constantly on when the coach is plugged in.
It's obviously and electrical issue with the power supply to that floor panel.
Newmar has been contacted by our service center and they have been very slow (months) to diagnose the issue. They apparently know about the problem but don't have a fix for it yet. I was hoping to find someone on this forum that has had the issue and fixed it. Maybe others have the problem too but just think it's engine heat. In July it was too hot to stand on without a floor rug. This time of year it maybe its not too bad.

How about just unplugging it until a solution is found? I saw my connectors behind a snap in cabinet panel in the bathroom recently. Why not just unplug for now? I would drop all the DC loads with the salesman switch, monitor the DC amps draw, then disconnect connectors - I would expect the amperage to be near zero.

2022 Dutch Star Bathroom Floor Hot

I would need to look at my 2021, to see the switches. I think there is a separate switch for the motor cover, our floor was cold until I found the switch. If I remember correctly the bathroom is heated with the bedroom switch but this is an option on the bathroom KIB panel that turns on the engine cover heat
