2022 LADP 4551 - The RedBaron73 Build
I am officially in Run #20, with an ETA for dealer pickup in early December.
I placed my order July 6th, days before the price increase. It took almost 60 days for Newmar to return the prints for final sign off. During that time there was some strong negotation going on between NIRVC, Newmar, and others in front of me.
I had requested a transaction to complete this calendar year. Early on that looked to be ok, but due to the timing of the orders, and the shere madness that ensued around the price increase, my request became a hard one to honor.
In the end, it worked out because another customer (who may be on here?) was willing to trade slots with what I was assigned, taking delivery in Jan/Feb 2022 instead. That allowed me to move up in position. After all those details where worked out, I received a phone call from NIRVC letting me know what they had done.
Great customer service!
Now for the details of my coach:
From the build sheet I chose:
- London Aire 4551
- Curt Spectrum IBC
- Sirroco Interior
- Glazed Maple Matte Cabinets
- All electric
- Dishwasher
- Extra Monitor
- Rear Camera Prep for Stacker
- Euro Booth
- Winegard Auto Open Face + In Motion
- Sleep Number Bed
- LED under ODS slides
- 30 Amp Connection for Stacker
- Stainless Trim
- Flag Pole
- Bay 4 - Non-Power Storage
- Kitchen Window
- RV Sanicon Turbo
I made a lot of changes to the interior. All of these decisions where made on the phone with my salesperson, getting texts and emails to show the difference. It really was a very simple process.
- King Aire Floor
- Dutch Star Backsplash in Kitchen & Mid Bath
- Dark Shower Floor ILO White
- Single tone leather ceiling treatments
- single tone leather couch, captain chairs
- Removed Nail Heads on Furniture & Bedroom headboard
- Adjustable shelves in rear medicine cabinet
- Dutch star 4369 Dresser ILO standard dresser
- (2) adjustable shelves in both sides of bedroom dresser
- LED Lights in dressers & rear ward robe
- GE Advantium Microwave - Vent to exterior wall
- 110V USB outlet in rear wardrobe
- 110V Outlet in Each dresser
- 110V Outlet DS Bay 2 - NON Inverted (for power washer)
- 110V Outlet - Freezer Bay
- 110V Outlet - Non-Inverted - Under Microwave towards front of coach
- 12v outlet Front drive - Non-ignition controlled
- Conduit from Electrical Bay to Mid Bath Electrical
- Conduit from roof to Mid Bath Electrical Cabinet
- Conduit from roof to Front Drive Cab
- CAT 6 from Front Driver Cab to DS Sofa OHC
- CAT 6 from ODS Dresser OHC to DS Sofa OHC
Mods that I have planned include:
* Automated Tank Dump - Upgraded to use RV-C
* Hughes Autoformer + PCS HW50C
* 3x MicroAir Soft Start
* Magna Shades
* Paint Correction & Ceramic Coat
* Spot Free / DI Water system and pressure washer
* DVR for 360-HD camera
* Removal of the billboard--add to the pile that I am now collecting
* Wire cleanup
* Trash cleanup from build
* plumbing cleanup/fix
* Centramatics
This will be the first Newmar that I have not done a Factory Pickup on. After spending time with Brett Davis, I have no doubt that NIRVC will be able to take care of any issue that I have on delivery day, and in the future.

Great build! Wish I had known about several of them at the time of our order. We did the micro change and it’s a big improvement. Looking forward to getting the DVR 360 done together!

Congratulations It sounds awesome! We pick up our LA4551 Monday from Lewisville and plan to spend anywhere from 3 to 5 days there. Our second coach from them in the last 2 1/2 years
and again counting on their PDI to be as good as first time around.
I will let you know how it goes!

No need. Newmar got rid of Hadley air, and is now installing Valid air on all high line coaches. This system is almost identical to active air, and included with the coach.

Hi RedBaron,
I have ordered a 2022 Newmar Essex 4551 from NIRVC in La Vergne. Ordered just prior to the price increase. Now for the hard part..... waiting.
My questions are related to your planned upgrades. I have some planned upgrades too (Hughes autoformer, Microair Soft Start, etc) but I see some in your planned upgrade list that I had not thought of.
Can you tell me where I can find information on the Automated Tank Dump and the DVR for 360-HD camera?
Thanks in advance for your time and help!

The automated tank dump uses barker valves and custom software to control the valves. Some use mqtt, others use Bluetooth or wifi relays, and others just extend the wiring to the bathroom to have a remote location.
As for the HD Dvr, this is a work in progress to find the right equipment. We are still trying to determine what is required.

Have you used the Centramatics before. You are one of the few in these forums that I trust their opinion on and you do most if not all the work yourself. Thankfully we have rid ourselves out our horrific King Aire but are wondering what benefits you have seen if you used the Centramatics before. I don’t see the benifit in tire wear as time will likely be the deciding factor on replacement vs tread wear but if there is a ride quality difference I’d be more intrigued.
