6 month old Bay Star 3401, first trip front jack leaked fluid, had fixed during service appt. Just took second trip and rear jack in leaking fluid. Not serious yet but leaving next week on 10 day trip and closest service appt. a week after I return. Is this a reoccurring Newmar issue? How critical is this leak since the MH will be sitting on the jack for 7 days? I don't want to be stuck in the camp ground.

Since first use, we experience multiple clicks from the jacks, almost like it's slipping a spline. A few times, the MH had a slight shudder that coincided with the clicks.

Anyone else have these issues? All similar experiences or knowledgeable comments appreciated.

How handy are you ?
Grab some wrenches, crawl underneath and tighten up the hose fittings.
NOT with the coach up on the jacks.
Hydraulic jacks should not leak.

On our previous coach, we had several jacks, off and on, that would pool fluid. We would wipe them clean, soap and wash to make dry and they never caused a problem. We eventually replaced only one. Our leaking problem always seemed worse when the jacks were not in use and had no pressure on them. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them as is and get them repaired when you return, because as was stated, they shouldn’t leak. Looks as if you perhaps got a bad batch.

I think they’re equalizer jacks - same as was on our canyon star. You should be able to get to them while in the retracted position. One of ours was weeping - here’s what I did to fix it…

First cleaned them off and dried off each fitting them, ran them through a cycle to see if any of the fittings seeped. Fluid. If they did, my plan was just to snug up the fitting with a wrench.

In my case, the fittings weren’t leaking. What was leaking was the plug on the other side of the cylinder directly opposite the fitting. When you think about it those cylinders are used in both left and right hand side settings and they are not side specific, so each cylinder has 4 ports - two each on opposing sides. I tightened the plug using an Allen wrench and then topped up the hydraulic fluid and ran it through four or five cycles popping went away and no more leaks.
