30 amp at my house?
I'm installing a 30amp setup at my house to power my 2023 Bay Star in the drive way. What do I need for an outside receptacle...30amp and how many volts?

RV 30 amp is ONE Hot= 120 VAC.
So, one hot, one neutral, one ground.

That's what we just installed and when I plug the EMS-PT50X into that 30amp receptacle using a 50/30 amp adapter and it shows L0 and clicks like it's letting the power go to the coach. When I look at the Power Control System panel, I get a no service message. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

We Install this to the out side of the house when we had our travel trailer. It was great and looked nice also. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Mr
For the slight added cost I would think to the future and put in a 50 amp plug

The 50amp plug has 120volts to TWO poles, plus a neutral and a ground (4wires).
30amp plug has 120volts to ONE pole, plus a neutral and a ground (3 wires).
The 50amp to 30amp adapter sends 120 volts to only ONE pole of the 50amp plug. The 2nd pole is empty.
Could be that the EMS-PT50X doesn’t like the missing power.
Have you tried plugging in without the EMS-PT40X?

Steve. Just curious, again, lol.
Is your rig 30 or 50 amp. I'm guessing 30 beings you want to install a 30 amp recepticle. And I will also guess that your EMS 50 is from the past or given to you. Why not get a 30 amp EMS?.

Make sure the wires connected to the outlet are in the correct position. See photo below. The black wire is hot, the white is ground, and the green is neutral.

INCORRECT.
A proper RV 30 male to 50 female adapter connects the single hot in the 30 amp end to BOTH hots in the 50 amp end. Pull out your ohm meter and verify!

I'm thinking the 50 amp plug would be much cheaper than a 30 amp EMS in your case Steve.

You need a 120V 30A circuit and a NEMA TT-30R receptacle. Make sure that the electrician understands this. 120V 30A is not a normal residential circuit. A normal residential circuit would be 220V.
If this is a DIY job, then I hope you understand things like wire size, circuit length and voltage drops.
