4 button thermostat vs 5 button
Been having to play with thermostat buttons, especially the mode to change settings. Previous owner had same problems. This 2000 Dutch Star DSDP 3565 has the heat pump roof top units. They perform exceptionally well.
I've read numerous articles about the 4 button and upgrade to the 5 button; Newmar even calls it upgrading the system. Just what am I upgrading if I go to the 5 button thermostat besides getting a new thermostat plus the electronic boxes mounted on each unit? The cost thru Newmar is around $650.
I guess what I'm asking is the current system is operating just fine but thermostat not so much, will a new thermostat (can't find) or rebuilt one cure my thermostat woes or is there a greater advantage going to 5 button and new electronics with the older heat pump units? Thanks for any guidance on this issue
