4002 vs 4018/4081 kitchen storage and counter space

As we narrow down our search the 4081/4018 plans keep popping up as favourites. We have yet to tour a 4002. We do think the passenger side table is a great idea. But not at the expense of kitchen utility.

Love to hear from others who've looked at both and made a choice of either. FWIW we are targeting a Mountain Aire (likely) but I realize there will be way more DS units out there. I figure they are same kitchen wise so please share your opinion!

TIA

I know that a lot of people like a passenger side table so that they're looking out over their own campsite. That's great, but in this day and age, with small tinted windows and large valances, you would really have to look hard to see what's going on outside. Sooooo…….personally, I don't see the placement of the dinette as a big issue.

If kitchen counter space and larger working area look at the DS 4328. Not nearly as popular as the 4369 but we love our 4328, because both of us can be working in the kitchen. One other bonus is the plumbing is stationary it’s not in the slide, so less to be concerned about. Good luck

I really wanted the 4002 because of the dinette on the passenger side. After looking the drivers side slide is smaller and the storage doors are shorter. Because we wanted the 3rd AC we went with the 4369.

We also looked at the 4002 and love the floor plan, but be sure and look at the passenger side basement bays... Shorter and harder to get into; that was a deal breaker for us. We have the 4018 in the Mountain Aire and love it. (We could get three Acs in the 40' on the Mountain Aire line)

Maybe the 4018 has a little more counter space with the pullout. The advantage with the 4002 is a fully opening half bath door with the slides in, a 6ft sofa which somebody can sleep on with out opening up the bed, and of course if you are sitting at the dinette you are not looking at the neighbors sewer connection.

If I remember correctly the outside TV had to be down on the cargo area as opposed to up on the slide with the dinette on the passenger side, if that's important to you.
