Photraveller, I was doing a half day drive and stop. Yes fighting the engine heat makes cooling the coach more difficult. To make our situation more complex we did not have a generator so could only cool the coach while driving with the dash air. If you have a generator, running it to operate the air conditioners at least an hour before you stop will get you ahead on cooling the coach.
I guess what I don't get is why my two 15k AC's can cool my 38 footer in direct sunlight, in vegas at 110 degrees so well but fall short cooling 2 more feet of your coach. My suggestion stands. Check the cooling potential of the units. Physics is physics.
