Probably pretty BAD. Hopefully your insurance company may take care of your losses or they may not.

Never trust ANY electrician to wire any RV receptacle. What he most likely did is to wire the receptacle for a single 240 Volt AC supply which most likely allowed 240 Volt AC to fry your devices.

Look at this link as to the correct method for wiring a RV 240 Volt 50 amp circuit.

RV Electric

Even though 240 Volt AC is supplied to the receptacle, it is split into two 120 Volt AC lines, each one supplying 120 Volt AC to each half of your coach.

I would also recommend purchasing a $350 Progressive EMS HW-50C unit and install it directly after your shore power cord and before the transfer switch. That investment would have saved your devices and any losses that you have incurred. Expensive lesson.

Dr4Film----Richard,
Thanks for the link and the response. I guess I have a dire need for an Rv education. Since experience brings patience, I believe I will soon be a patient fellow. GB

What unit did it fry? Did the electrician wire the plug wrong?
