600hp LA vs. Essex vs. KA
2015 600hp London Aire vs. Essex vs. King Aire
If all 3 have 600hp, what do you think will be the main difference between the 3? Is the basement height of the King Aire greater? $100k difference between each one?
With warm regards, James

Think I read somewhere that London Aire is built on a freightliner SLR chassis
Where Essex and King Air are on a Spartan iTag steerable tag axle chassis.

I'm waiting to learn more about the London Aire myself.

The Essex is equipped with a 500 HP engine and the King Aire a 600. The London Aire is not in production and has not been for some time.

Boy Peter, I guess it will take a fellow amigo to tell you that you have not been keeping up with the forum, or latest Newmar News. We can deduce one of two things: either you are out of the country and not logging in often, or you have taken a special dose of your brewmaster's swill, thus how you earned the name of the Doctor of Mixology.
600hp in all three new rigs--- LA, back from the dead and Essex now with a 600hp Cummins, joining the big brother King Aire. I hate to bring you this news.

Wooo! Back the honey wagon up. This information has only been announced in the last couple of days. That does not qualify me as a complete Neanderthal. I've been tied up with company, back to back, for the last 3 weeks with no break!

I totally understand. And you know that I am never able to stay ahead of you in knowledge.
Quite working so hard. By the way, Jetsmania gave me permission to chastise you so that was all the lead I needed.
The real point of the post as this is outside of the Amigos nonsense thread and 600 hp information is what degree of passive steering a Freightliner chassis will allow in a turn? Spartan has published that their passive system will lessen a turning radius by 7%. With the London Aire also having a 600 hp engine, is it a big deal that it will not have passive steering?

Here's the feature sheet from Tom Johnson RV in NC; they've already sold their first in stock unit.

In all honesty, if they are similarly-priced, I'm buying the Cornerstone over the LADP. A little disappointed, to be sure!

Interesting that you say that; I think you know I'm pretty high on Entegra, but with three times as many floor plans and comfort drive, LA would seem to be pretty appealing. Air leveling seems to be the only thing missing, against Entegra 2 year warrantee. The prices appear to be within $5k MSRP.

Dave, I've always been impressed with TS/Entegra always loading up their coaches with a bit more, wile Newmar stops juuuust a bit short! A 12.5 vs10.0 generator, yes, the air leveling, leather, granite, Spartan chassis....you know what I mean. But yes, many times it does come down to the floorplan...the FWS is a real winner and the main reason I switched to Newmar.

I knew you were twisting last year. I assume you like the Essex...I could just never understand the pricing strategy with it; thought it was priced MSRP about $125-150 too high compared to CS. I keep pushing for more floor plans with the CS as I want to upgrade. Entegra is slow to move.

With the steerable tag and 600 HP, those owners will be getting into their campsites faster than a $1 massage.

Personally, I wouldn't let the inclusion or EXclusion of a steerable tag be a factor on what I buy. Great THEORY, perhaps, but of little value in the real world.
Now I'm headed out for that massage.....
