8,000 QD Generator output?

I have the 8,000 QD generator in my 2015 4018 Dutch Star, which I very seldom use but do exercise it regularly. Today while running it (unplugged from 50A shore power) I was running 3 small electric heaters on Low and the dehumidifier in order to have the gen under a load. The Magnum panel was showing 24-25 amps on Leg 2, but when I turned on the side I of the Oasis heater the amps hit 37 and it only stayed on for maybe 5 seconds before Magnum shed it.
Next I turned off one of the heaters, the amps dropped to 20A and when I then turned the side I of the Oasis heater on again the amps went to 32A but stayed on this time.

Do I have something set wrong that causes the Magnum to shed generator loads at 37 amps but is okay at 32 amps? I've ran higher amps than that while connected to 50A shore power without anything being disconnected, probably in the mid 40As.

Appreciate any help here since I'm still trying to learn all about the Magnum.

8000 watts at 120 volts is 66 amps total. Split that between L1 and L2 and you get 33 amps a side.

Shore power is 50 amps per side.

Yep, to get a full 50 amps you need a 12,000 watt generator

Thanks Guys. Guess I've been under the opinion that the generator did the same thing as shore power by having its total same amps out put on either leg.

I pretty well understood 30A service/generators but it looks like I still have much to learn about 50A even though I've had 50A coaches since 2004. I suppose I'll never get past learning something new every day on these coaches. Thanks Again.

The left side graphic is a simple 50 amp service layout.

Your generator is the same, just only 33 amps.
