Wanted to see if any of you might have some thoughts on this.
Over the weekend we were dry camping and after into being there our second day every time we went to start the generator the awning would roll up. Seems very strange to me.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? Again, any thought?
Thanks,
Shaun and Amy

Hi Shaun,
Does this happen every time or was it a single incident? Is there any beeping from the control box? My Weather Pro is haunted.

Hi Gary,
Well it doesn't always happen, but once it does it once it continues untill I unplug the power supply to the control module and then plug it back in. I did not hear any beeping sound.

Same thing here. A new control board is needed. You may also need a new wind sensor. Do you have the wind sensor on the roof or on the awning roller bar?

Hey Gary,
That's what I was thinking. I have a dealer talking with A&E to try to figure it all out and repaired. Luckily, it's all under warrenty. The wind sensor is located on the awning arm.

I have no experience with the sensor in the roller bar. I'm glad the problem is covered by a warranty.

Well, through many phone calls and pushing to speak with someone in the Tech department, I have finally been able to get a tech at Dometic to talk with me directly. So, with going back and forth and doing various tests I hope to be able to figure out the issue with the awning.
To be honest I think it's not a problem with the awning, but a lack of knowledge about the awning. There is MUCH more to that awning then the owner's manual talks about. The manual really should be re-written in my opinion.
You certainly learn a lot owning a RV.

We don't have awning problems, but whenever we turn on a 12v light our TV goes on the blink.
Wanna trade? (Just kidding, and hope you find out how to fix your awning.)
We haven't begun to figure out how to operate everything in our Kountry Aire yet, but are enjoying it considerably so far.

I've heard of that issue before with flourescent lights. Is that what you're turning on? There's always something strange about those kind of lights.
Everything else on the coach seems great so far though. I'm still getting use to the AutoGen Start and inverter, but everyone is telling me I'm using them correctly. So on we go.

The TV is actually affected by almost anything that runs off 12v, although I did not detect it when I turned on the water pump for a very short duration. I haven't tried the awning when the TV is on yet to see whether that affects it.

Well after talking with the A&E rep for some time and trouble shooting the problem I discovered what the problem was. So, for those of you who might want to know for future reference. When dry camping, if your battery level goes down to 10.5 volts +/- the awning will roll up automatically. This is a built in sensor from A&E. So, what was happening to me was that the surge to start the generator was pulling the battery level down enough to signal the awning to roll up. To fix the problem, I installed a battery dedicated to starting the generator.
Happy Camping......Shaun and Amy

I am following this thread with interest. I have possibly the same awning on a 2005 MADP and it seems very sensitive to light wind. Where on the arm is the sensor and is there an adjustment?

My wind sensor is mounted on the roof, not the awning....unless they changed the design recently, look for a round, short sensor with a 360 deg opening.
