A/C duct zones

Second time out with new coach & noticed that the air flow from zone 2 A/C ducts (rear of coach) seems weak. Also noticed that when zone 2 is running & zone 1 is off, that there is air flow coming out of the ducts for both zones. I thought that the ducts for the two zones were completely independent. Anyone have any insight on this?

Duct work is all connected. If you sensor for zone 1 is located near the kitchen or close to the bedroom as mine is the rear A/C will sometimes prevent zone 1 from running. What I do is turn zone 1 down a couple degrees lower and that usually allows both to run. In the winter I will reverse the settings. Hope this helps.

It is a common duct running the length of the coach. Airflow is lower at the end that is farthest from a running A/C unit. If both units are running, airflow should be similar at both ends and usually the strongest nearest any running unit. Assuming you have the newest CCC2 thermostat, you can check actual room temperatures by depressing the "Inside Temp" when any zone is selected. It will display the temp at the sensor in that zone.

With our Essex we found with the 3 AC/heat pumps the bedroom got a lot more air then the rest of the coach. With individual air outlets, block off 2 in the bedroom and one in the middle of the coach so now when all AC on a more even air flow and temp.

Yup, since mine aren't flow adjustable, here and there I've used an inlet air filter (or 2 stacked) on the output vent.
