A/C problems

Thanks to all who replied to my last post. It was very helpful. After all the resets and things we tried it boils down to this: we have a 2015 Newmar Ventana 4369 with 3 AC's and an onan 8000 generator. When leaving the last camp ground I pulled the electrical out of the pedestal without turning off the breaker if that matters also I do have a surge protector. The middle and rear AC's work fine on the generator. Turned those off, waited 5 minutes and tried the front AC. Would not come on. Generator sounds like its taking a load and the power control system panel shows the amps as if the unit was on but it doesn't run. Any thoughts?

Maybe the fan motor in that unit is not coming on so you think the whole unit is not coming on? If it's pulling amperage, something is running somewhere. Just guessing here, but that's where I would start.

Don't know your rig but running amps for 2 A/Cs [not counting start-up spike] is approaching 30 amps on one leg ....your 8000QD only put out 35-40 amps per leg.... if your rig has an electrical mgt system, then two AC's plus anything else on that leg might trigger power shedding of one AC by your EMS ....just a guess????

Have you tried turning off the two working AC units at the thermostat? That will eliminate the electrical load exceeding the generator capacity.

You could be drawing amps from the electric water heaters, make sure they are off. You could also draw amp while charging your batteries.

What is the temperature setting for zone 1? Make sure the zone 1 thermostat is set lower than the actual temp otherwise that ac will not. Turn on.
