A Plumbing Puzzle

The fresh water fill valve needs replacement. Here's the problem. The valve and the Pex piping, are routed to the left, back and out to the right in the top of the black box. The valve has about 10 inches of hard pipe across the back before it goes up and out. The suggestion was made to disconnect the grey nut holding the fill port in, allowing the valve to drop down. I don't believe there is enough give in the piping to drop that valve down low enough to work on it. Additionally there is not enough clearance to get a big enough wrench on that grey nut, I tried, it is a 1 inch nut, and no wrench is that short. My thoughts now are to Sawzall an access hole in the top of the box to get at the valve, I can drop the whole box down. If anyone has replaced this valve, please let me know. This is a Bay Star.

They make stubby wrenches or just buy a cheapie Walmart or other and saw it off.

I really don't want to mess around with the gray nuts, they have been there for over 10 years, and if broken, I don't know if a replacement is quickly found, then no water.

Those nuts should be readily available at most hardware stores. They are used in all kinds of plumbing. They are not an rv priority item.

Even with those fittings off, the drop of the valve wont be enough to work on it, it is rigid Pex. All the crimps are on the inside face of the box, inaccessible, which leads me to believe that this was assembled as a subassembly and then installed as one piece. In the back of the box, where the 3/4 fill pipe goes out, it crosses over the sprayer pipes, further limited any downward motion. I could be wrong, hence the question.

Could you get a basin wrench in there?
