I am about to buy an '02 Mountain Aire. Can you run it on just one generator? When I ran the gen. and A/C, it seemed as if both A/C came on. If you plug into a land line with only 30 amp service, will it automatically run one A/C? Or do you have to manually switch it over? The reason I ask is that I carry 2 Honda 2000i gens. now, and hooked together, they will run my one A/C and trailer when we are primitive camping and I would like to do that instead of running the large gen. Thanks for your help.

Dmax: you should be ae to run both a/c's on the 30 amp service. However, you may not be able to run both a/c's, ref., and microwave, at the same time. You should have a control panel, that shows howmany amps your using. Just watch it every now an then.
Yes, you have to switch the a/c's manually. If pull to many amps you will trip/blow the breaker, on the land line.
Good luck on your new unit.

It's for sure I don't know my way around the MA. I thought I was doing good to find the a/c switch to turn it on. But I didn't see anything that would give me a choice of just running one a/c. My gens. will run just one a/c and the Air Stream without a whimper. Thought I could do the same while primitive camping if I turn off the a/c when I run the microwave as I do now. When we don't need the a/c, I run one of the gens. to charge battery and operate the refrig, tv, lights, etc.
Thanks

Dmax: I have a 2007 MAD, with 3-a/c's. I have a thermostat that allows me to operate 1 or 2 or all 3. Since I know nothing about the 02, you may have to ask the deale/owner.

Dmax,

You may find that carting around a couple of generators, hooking them up, and worrying if you have enough power to now be worth the trouble when you have a perfectly good and plenty big enough gennie already wired into the motorhome.

There are many paradigm shifts that you will go through in moving from trailers to Class A's.

Good camping !!!

Your coach Genny will run what ever you want just make sure you have fuel. Gen will shut off at 1/4 tank so you can run engine to next fuel stop.
