A winterizing experience

Today I winterized my new 2020 Canyon Star.
After draining all the water lines, etc, I hooked up the compressor and blew out the lines. Well, then I took the line to the pump, inserted it in the antifreeze, turned on the pump and it would not pull the antifreeze from the jug. Tried a couple different things like loosening the lines to the pump, but to no avail.
The final solution; I hooked up a hand pump to the fresh water hookup and pumped about 3/4 of a gallon into them. Then put the hose in another jug of antifreeze, turned on the pump, and "wowzaa", it started pulling the antifreeze! And it will suck up a gallon in about 2 minutes! 5 gallons later, job finished!
Blowing out the lines must have caused the pump not to self-prime, thus not picking up the fluid from the jug! I'm always learning something new!
Thought I'd pass this on, in case someone else has the same experience!

So now, I guess I'll have to go inside the coach, turn on the fireplace, enjoy a glass of wine, & think of the adventures yet to come!

You may have lost the prime for pump but mine was self-priming with the plastic hose in big bucket, you may need to check the valves and close off the one from the fresh water tank, should self-prime, try it for next year.
Here is a link for winterizing just to double check that you have everything done.
Enjoy your wine for tonight.
