AC vent filter improvement

After cleaning the filters a few time i have had a few of the plastic push in clips break which requires buying a whole filter assembly. I decided to eliminate the need for the clips. You need 1 inch mending plates mine are black simply put 2 on each assembly.
It holds the filter piece in place and is cover out of site

I've probably pulled out the vents around 100 times of the past 12 years to clean the filters and haven't had any issues with the clips. I twist while pulling them and they pop right out

Good idea. I used up my three spares over the winter. I normally pull straight down. Will try PanJH’s suggestion the next time.

I also twist while pulling down. I'll just say it has greatly reduced my breakage. :-)

I had the same setup in my winnie journey those were 12 years old and old one broke the new ones are not nearly as heavy and are flimsy which is why i think they break
