Accesory relay mojo Back up camera. Advice needed.

So we're merrily cruising down I5, Tahoe in tow and the factory back up cam, Voyger vom78 does the slow, sputtering fade to black, aha I say, better get new one as the old school CRT has just failed. Learned all about discontinued cameras, the fact new color screens don't fit in old blac and white holes, and that Voyger thinks their stuff is worth over a grand ! Hello eBay and $325 later I have the last NOS vom 78 in the world. Life is good, until the new cam doesn't work. Quick check shows no power at the camera and no power at the fuse, located in the compartment under the driver with the hood release, jack control and a whole bunch of wires, relays and fuses. Turns out the
"Ignition/accessory" relay, K5 is the culprit. Relay sputters and is warm to the touch, oh It is soldered to the fuse panel, rated 80amps, and is not a NAPA stocked relay. Newmar parts guy knew exactly what I was talking about, $35 for the relay or $235 for the whole fuse panel and 7 new relays. Should I field fix the old board with a soldered in new relay or bight the $235 for the plug and play ? In the back of my mind I wonder how the parts guy knew exactly what I was talking about with the K5 relay ? Common failure perhaps .

Any time I can do for $35.00 what some one wants $235 I go with $35.00 a little solder and a few minutes.

You can always just get the relay and have it replaced at some electronics
shop,if you don't have the skills. Or stop by my house,
I'll do it for a beer.
