Access to Cable TV

2017 Newmar Baystar 3401. On my first trip and am trying to access cable.
I connected the cable wire from the RV park's cable outlet to the cable connector in the electrical bay. I turned on the Sony tv and hit the input button and went to the 'tv' selection. One cannot select cable or antennae, it appears automatic and selects the antenna option, which is what I get on the tv.
I do not know if I have an antenna booster which the manual should be turned off.
Any ideas.
thanks in advance for your help

If you have a Selector box, select Cable TV. Amplifier should not be on for Cable TV. If your Sony is like mine, press blue home button on remote, go to Channel, go to Signal Type, select Cable. Then go back to Channel, go to Auto Program and program the TV to receive available channels.

thanks Larry..... I did find the antenna boost button and turned it off. My sony then automatically looks for cable when the channel is entered... I am getting what I want but what is curious is that I still cannot get any of the cable channels above channel 12. Whatever......
thanks again.

On some cable systems the first 12 channels are analog and everything else is digital and on most systems scrambled. This requires a local cable box.
