Access to Newmar video switchbox in front cabinet?
Is there an easy way to remove the acrylic panel that houses the video switchbox and vcr player on my 04 DSDP? I can see 2 screws that hold it in place, but I'll be darned if I can put a screwdriver on them. I have a 90* screwdriver but cannot access the screwheads due to lack of room. I must be overlooking something. Before I break off the screwheads, can anyone help me out?
I have the original standard definition TV's and want to install a converter box for the batwing roof antenna and need access to the back of the switchbox and all the coax leads.

Is it similar to this screws on face of panel.
Three screws top of panel.
You need a flat knife to separate the video equipment that are Velcro together.
The hardest part is flexing the panel to gain access behind the panel than putting it back together.
The TV control box needs to be open view to see your remote to change channels and program TV.
I have since installed a JACK HD ANT and upgraded the TV to LCD HD.

Yes, that's it exactly..... only it looks like your screws are accessible. Move them up 3/4 on an inch and I can't get to them.

You need a square end screwdriver also.
I took off the cabinet door also.

Thanks so much for your pics and response. I'll take another run at it this week with a different 90* screwdriver found on line at Harbor Freight. If that doesn't work, I'll knock off the heads and go from there. Plan on fabricating a new panel once the third element (converter) has been added.
Thanks Again,
Planocat

Using the square tip screw driver it will be used through out your motor home for all the screws, remove the cabinet door and it will be easier to remove the three screws, will take for ever to use 90* and you may do more damage to cabinet braking off screw heads, always remember treat your motor home as you would like to be treated will last a lot longer.

As 007 says all the screws Nemar uses are not Phillips head they are #2 square. When I removed mine, I think I used the #2 bit with a 1/4" ratchet to remove the screws.

Purchased 2 additional types of 90* mini ratchets and still not enough room for access. Finally took a large pry bar and pulled the 2 screws out of the wood. Removed the plastic panel and gained access to the area. Converter now installed and working. May or may not fabricate a replacement panel. I have no idea how Newmar screwed that panel in place on my coach......unless they put the cabinet facing/door on AFTER they put the screws in. Simple project made difficult! But at least I now have OTA TV if I should need it.
Thanks to all responders.

I have had mine off many times by removing the door and square tip screwdriver for screws.
You will have other times to remove those type screws.
Glad your all set now.

Thanks for the suggestions..... am well aware of square tip screws in the RV industry. Have had a class A since 1978, so I've dealt with that screwtype for decades. The problem had to do with location. No frontal access even if the door had been removed. Believe me, my cabinet does not have the access to the 2 screws that yours does.
Anyway, all is well as it is a done deal. I do sincerely thank you for your input. It is what makes this forum great.
