Adding Tile Back Splash?

We've noticed that some of the newer model Newmar's have a tile back splash and was wondering if anyone has added it and if you ordered the tile sheets from Newmar.

If I were to consider changing to tile , I would definitely not grout the tile , I'd be looking into colored silicone for all the joints.

I have thought about it and read where several people have done it. Saw some pictures and it looked great. My big concern is: will the vinyl wall covering going to stay suck to the wall with the tile glued to it. I used a 3m picture hanging device and the vinyl wall covering released from the wall and left a bubble. Fixed the bubble with a hair dryer and restock it to the wall but couldn't fix a large area if it started to ome off.

We did it around the stove area. Removed the mirrors, cleaned the vinyl real good and used mastic to stick the tiles to the wall. We used the small tiles that come in 12" squares. I did grout it but it doesn't take much.
It's been about a year now and no problems so far.

There are other light weight faux tile products that are available that might work better. Check Amazon for peel and stick plastic tile. A number of options are available that wouldn't be as likely to pull the wallpaper off.

We place "Smart Tile" a vinyl stick on product that satisfies us for the look without the weight or problems inherent in tile and grouting in a Rollin earthquake.Click image for larger version

Like firedoc, we also used Smart Tiles (Idaho Mosaic pattern) for ours and are VERY happy with the way it turned out.
