Adjusting cargo doors

I have a couple of cargo doors on 2014 DS 4369. Can the struts be adjusted?

Have they lost their "push"? not opening all the way? Or not lining up and hard to close.
I have family of of "dog pound" road.

They open too far.

Are they side hinged or top hinged doors?

If they are top hinged, do you have the vertical adjustment slide with the individual steps built in? If so, you may just not have the rod at the bottom step.
If they are side hinged doors, then you could re-drill the inside of the door side towards the opening end of the door thus making the rod effectively shorter and not letting the door open too much.

We have an 04 Newmar Mtn Aire DP 4016 and I have never had to adjust the doors from their original factory setup.

It is hard to say what to do without seeing the setup.

Drive safely.

For top hinged doors, attach cable lanyards to struts to keep door from raising too high. I have several doors that OP installed.

byoslandry has the right idea. Shorter length struts would be available at auto parts houses. But correct length may be an issue. Also, get the lowest pound strut you can. Personally I'd try to adjust/move the mounting.

Cargo doors

Thanks for the great ideas. I'll give it a try.
