Adjusting the main slide out from side to side

Dav L,

Instructions originally posted on 12-03-2020 by Dav L on Full Standard slide room information.pdf

I would need your help for adjusting the main slide out from side to side.

I have to replace the rubber seal around the whole slide out which I have done on the front and the top sides but impossible to do the rear side one as the gap in very narrow when compared to the wide gap for the front side of the slide out.

Your provided instructions said to loosen the nut directly behind the slide out tube (there is one on each tube) and any any brackets that hold the slide out skirt on. Slide out will then slide from side to side, tighten nuts when in the proper place.

I don’t know what nut to loosen. The drawings included in the instructions don’t help much in finding these nuts. So if there is any way that you could guide me to locate those nuts, I would be grateful.

Adjusting the main slide out from side to side

I need help for adjusting the main slide out from side to side.

I have to replace the rubber seal around the whole slide out which I have done on the front and the top sides but impossible to do the rear side one as the gap in very narrow when compared to the wide gap for the front side of the slide out.

Dav L provided some information from Newmar on 12-03-2020 on Full Standard slide out adjustments. It said to loosen the nut directly behind the slide out tube (there is one on each tube) and any any brackets that hold the slide out skirt on. Slide out will then slide from side to side, tighten nuts when in the proper place.

Dav L does not remember much about the finer details and I am at lost to know what nut to loosen. The drawings included in the instructions don’t help much in finding these nuts. So if there is someone out there that could any way guide me to locate those nuts, I would be grateful.

Many thanks, this is exactly the information that I was looking for.

As a side note, I contacted Newmar Customer Service and received this reply:
“ Newmar does not provide step by step procedures for adjusting slide outs. There are some articles on our Newgle website that may be helpful. “

I could not find anything useful on the Newgle website.

I must say that I was very surprised to receive such a response from Newmar even after I had pleaded my case for help with my 17 years old DSDP that dealers don’t want to touch. In the past, these guys were going out of their way to help you out. I guess these times are long gone and this is what we should expect from Newmar since the take over by Winnebago.

Very happy to finally be able to adjust my slide out so that I can put the new RV Seal around it - thanks to GM2.
