Hi shawnlm57,
You are correct. The air bags should stop filling when the engine shuts off. The only exception, I know of, is if a prior owner installed air leveling. This would have been an aftermarket choice.

Your air bags will keep filling as long as there is ample air pressure in the tanks to keep filling them until the ride height valves shuts the air off. The only way they would quit filling when you shut the engine off is if the pressure in the tanks is lower than the pressure already in the bags.

Air Bag question

Well The person that owned this home previously took Very good care of
it as it is still in pristine condition for 24 GorT (Give or take) But am finding
this.... little merry chase fun. The battery was bad when I bought this KS
and I knew it checked the alternator with a tester before I bought it and
it showed no problems and the electrical tester is coming up with nothing
erronious. but the chassi bat will sometimes discharge to almost nothing
sometimes with the lockout on or off... any Ideas to stare at...?

You're losing me here. Is this an air bag problem or a battery problem?

Air Bag Problem

The problem is yes the battery discharging and I thought maybe I am leaving something automatic on that I am not chatching... I am Real new at this and
This Machine has more BEEPs and WHISTLEs than you can shake a stick at...!
Has me Befuddled to say the least. Any way I guess I am going down the list
of things that run on auto in this Dream home which seems to be a bunch...
I fuggered out hehe that it took 3 days to run down a 1000 cranking amp battery (brand New) buy the way so I am going from there...

Here is some information on the charging system for these coaches. This should get you pointed in the right direction.
Also suggest looking in the Newmar Owners Forum. There is Newmar specific information that covers almost every area.

engine and adding The Banks power to this already Beautiful Motor Home....

I'm befuddled too. Best I can tell there is a chassis battery drain problem and that is all. Is this correct? Do you have a meter and are comfortable using it?

Is this a gas coach and you have a Granning system? Maybe call company for old spec's.
Brochure and Owners Guide 1997 oldest we have.
Braking system.----- More info on fuel pump and braking system.
Never know what you might find in
these old links.
Links found in QT's # 3.
Sorry the old links we had for Ford air bag suspension system are gone if you have this type system.
Maybe someone with your year coach has them to repost.
