Air conditioner

I have had the air conditioner on all day. Now I’m getting an E-1 error code and air not working. Can anyone offer a fix or what the problem may be? Thank you. I should mention the breaker is fine and shore power is good. Didn’t work with generator either.

Not sure about the code - but in all likelihood, there is an electrical issue up inside the unit on the roof.

Just remember, 90%+ of AC unit problems are either electrical or due to a dirty unit - rarely is it an issue with the refrigerant system ( for those who try to tell you it is).

Check the manual for the thermostat, it has the error codes as well as procedures for clearing. I had the same code, which I believe is a communication problem. I was unable to clear the code. Had to replace The communication cable between the #1 and #3 air conditioner. I believe you only have two air conditioners, but the same may apply.

E1 is a communication error between the thermostat and the AC controller board.

I would:

1. Pull the thermostat and reseat the cable to see if that fixes it.

If not:

2. Pull the 12v fuse for the thermostat/AC and flip the 120v breaker off for the AC. Wait a moment and reinsert the 12v fuse and flip 120v breaker back on.

If that does not fix it, then you are going to have to get up on the roof and start checking 12and 120v connections and controller boards.
