Air Horn Inoperative (2000 Newmar Mountain Air)

I recently purchased this 2000 Mountain Air, Model 3758 (V10 Gas) and can't get the air horn to operate. The steering wheel controlled horn works fine.

I have a switch on the dash that says "Air Horn". It is not a toggle switch but rather On and Off. There are two horns on the roof with wires running to them.

Can anyone offer some troubleshooting assistance?
Why is the switch, not a toggle switch?
Can I jump 12V to each roof mounted horn and should they do something? (Testing)

Thanks for some troubleshooting information.

Are there any air hoses going to the horns?

I have that same switch on my '04 DSDP. Horns on roof are electric. Air horns don't exist on mine and I'd bet they don't exist on yours either. I can't find any diagrams of horn air lines in my documentation.

Ok , air horns on the roof of a gas coach , would require a 12 volt compressor , and have only a 1/4" air line running to the roof .

Dash switch is a rocker , to connect the roof horns to the horn button operated relay, that operates the chassis horn.

If you have wires to the horns on the roof they're electric ( air horn look alike)
Test for power and ground on the roof , the wiring probably runs down the drivers side " A " pillar and to the dash switch ( power ) and chassis ground.

I have a 2000 Dutch Star. It has "AIR" horns They are air operated. I have to turn the rocker switch on and then use the steering wheel horn button to make them work. I haven't had mine too long, but if I remember right, the engine has to be running to fill the air tank up before they will work.

I guess I have electric horns on the roof. Now I have to figure out if they work. I will test for power and ground.
