Air Line at Receiver 2017 Ventana LE 4037

I am the second owner of this coach. I noticed on the rear of the coach near the hitch an air line. This air line is linked into the air brakes and is only under pressure when the coach brakes are applied.

I assume it is for a toad braking system such as the Roadmaster Brake Master.

My question, was this air line standard equipment or was it added by the previous owner who I am unable to contact?

Correct, that would be for an Demco/SMI Air Force One or similar braking system, gives you proportional braking, a very nice system.

I believe Newmar started installing them standard around 2017, you can give them a call at 1-800-731-8300, they'll be happy to look it up for you, just have your coach number or VIN number handy when you call. If you call them around 7AM Eastern time you usually get through right away, by afternoon they are usually slammed...

I don't know for sure regarding your coach. But the one on my 2008 KSDP was added by a previous owner.

I don't recall seeing this as standard or even optional equipment in 2008. But 2017 might be different.

I have mine connected to a SMI AirForce One braking system in our toad. The AF-1 toad equipment and installation is expensive, but permanent, doesn't require any portable brake mechanism to be installed between the seat and brake pedal, and is proportional. The harder I press the brakes in the coach, the more brake pressure is applied to the toad's brakes.

I particularly appreciate not having to install or adjust anything in the toad when I tow. I just connect the tow bars and hose and cables and the brakes work.

It is not standard equipment on the Ventana LE. You might be able to identify the system by locating the ping tank on the coach side. Mine was located in the engine area accessed through the chassis battery bay. I had the Air Force One and it was marked on the tank. Hope this helps
