All batteries dead
Hi Folks
Stored my canyonstar at a local indoor facility for a month. it was plugged in and the battery disconnect was on. Went to start it today and ALL batteries were dead. I managed to get the engine started with my battery pack, but nothing in the coach is operable due to the dead batteries.
I was going to use my 12v battery charger to charge up the chassis batteries until I found out they are 6v batteries. I'll have to get a 6v charger.
The inverter clicks on when I plug it in. Any ideas? Had no issues all year until now.

I may be wrong but although you have 6 volt batteries they are wired up to give you 12 volts so your battery charger should be fine.

Yes, you can use a 12 volt charger. Find the + wire going away from the batteries, for your charger + and then clip the negative to the metal chassis.
Some short cables go from one batt to the next. Don't use them.

I believe your coach has one 12V chassis battery and either two or four 6V batteries (wired for 12V) to power the house.
It sounds to me, if you can hear the inverter/converter come on, you have something switched off and isolating the converter.
First thing is to check to make sure the Store Switch is in the on position so the house batteries will charge. Not sure if you have a chassis battery disconnect switch but if you do, it also must be on.
Take your voltmeter and check the DC output of the converter while plugged into shore power. Your should see 13.5 VDC minimum on the voltmeter. If not, chances are the converter is turned off or a blown fuse.
If it has been working all along, think back as to what has changed. Did you disconnect or turn anything off?

The OP says the "battery disconnect was on". Does that mean the batteries were disconnected? Would the battery disconnect also disconnect the inverter/charger and not be charging anything?

The clicking noise I bet you hear is the transfer relay energizing from plugging in the shore power. I think I remembered something about a reset on the inverter/convertor which I know on my coach is up in between the frame rails in the storage area. You may have to crawl inside and see if it may be tripped,

Exactly, the so called Store Switch has to be ON and not in the STORE position.

You mean the GFI in the inverter compartment?

No, it shouldn't

I'll check tomorrow.
The only thing I did differently was to shut off the refrigerator breaker because I couldn't find a shut off switch.
Batteries are charging now. It's being traded in a week or so....

When your recharging your batteries the battery cut off switch is on, you can read voltage in display window, also your inverter should be off, if on its drawing voltage off the batteries your trying to charge.
