I'm looking at bunkbed models, and I'm wondering what you folks think of the All Star 4154 model? It's a little longer than the Ventana bunkbed models.
I don't think the step up into the master bed would be an issue for me. The giant storage area underneath would be great for bikes, etc.
Does the mid engine chassis handle better than a pusher as they claim?

IMO yes it handles by far better than a DP, but of course we have one. I do believe if they could fit the larger engines into a ME it could be the demise of DPs. Suggest you drive both and compare!

Check the new 4159 Allstar out....Similar to the 4154 but with a bedroom slide now and a loft with queen above. Less storage than the 4154 though....

Also - I have talkd to two different Newmar Reps and they state the All Star is the best driving unit due to it being more balanced. I am looking at the 4159 or the Dutch Star 4043 Bunk Model - both about the same cost.

So this thing has 2 queen beds? One below on a slide, and one in a fixed position above?

There aren't any All Star at dealers near me, unfortunately.

Newmar is mocking one up at the factory now as they complete the construction plans. It will be a few weeks before they complete this process and it is ready for production.
Two Bunks, Two Queens, Sleeper Sofa, and large dinette that makes into a bed..

Pretty cool floor plan! Its amazing what can be done with the Mid Engine! We have used our garage as a 2nd bedroom, motorcycle/ATVs/boat/bicycle carrier, workshop, laundry room, hobby room, entertainment room, etc.
This is very close to what we were going to build with a truck except-we wanted the slideout bedroom above a garage(coming soon at Newmar)!
Another one is a half garage below for the single Harleys owners.

I have the 3950 and I think the ME is awesome. If you look at the design, the engine and ALL fluids are between the rails and between the axles. This means that the weight is low in the center which makes for great handling. There are things that I would change but the AllStar is a great line. The new floorplan that Kneal posted is my newest interest but it has some big flaws.
Where are you located RoadRunner?

I'm in Virginia, just outside the DC beltway.

Right now the way the plan is slated, the height from the floor of the loft to the ceiling of the loft, is around 28 inches. You would practically have to belly crawl around up there and an adult couldn't even sit up, only lay down. Like Nathan stated earlier, they have some major flaws to work out.

From both Newmar and the dealer I am working with. Nathan Focht also got a copy from Newmar as well...

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if Newmar is actually building the 4159? It's on their website but they don't have any pictures of it and I haven't seen any dealers (online) with it.
