Aluminum wheel corrosion

2014 Ventana with Accuride Aluminum wheels, with Accu-Shield finish.
Noticed today, that I have white Aluminum corrosion starting at a few of the lug nut locations on the front wheels. The Accu-shield finish is like a clear coat they apply to the wheel to make it easier to clean. I had this issue on my Jeep wheels a few years back, and it just continues to spread, looking lousy. Not a structural concern - just appearance. I have not contacted Newmar or Freightliner yet. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue ?

I have it in a couple spots.

I haven't decided what to do about it, yet.

I had this same issue on my previous coach- 2005 Newmar 43' MADP- when it was new. Somebody forgot or didn't care enough to place a mylar protective ring over the hub & lug nuts before tightening down or loosening with an air impact, thereby scratching the clear coat off the rim with the socket next to the lug nuts. This is really Al. oxide- it will continue to spread/creep as it migrates outward from the scratched area.

I contacted both Newmar & Accuride & they agreed to replace @ N/C 3 of my rims.

HAPPY TRAILS
