Any information on 2019 Newmar

Looking for information on 2019 Newmar dutch star 4369, does anyone have the in's and out's on this model? Should I just run the other direction?

Hi - Had an '18 4369 and currently have a 2020 4369. Great coach. What do you want to know? If it fits your needs I'd run to buy one.

how is the noise factor in the newer models? We drove one that had so much wind noise coming from the door?

Hi - Our '18 was quiet. The '20 required some extra wind proofing when it was new but has been fine since then. Are you aware that the door is a 2 stage lock. The first stage is fine when parked but you need to close it hard enough to hit the second stage for travel. It could also be that the '19 you drove needed the door adjusted.

Noise, other than tire noise, is not an issue with the Dutch Star in my experience.

We did read about the second lock, we also found after 15 years of having to close the door on our Coachman that we had to put new rubber stripping because of closing it so hard. Didn't think about the adjustment though. What was better on the 2020 that made you upgrade from your 2019?

We have a 2019 DS and love it. No wind noise on ours.

Any information on 2019 Newmar

I have read that many freightliner and spartan chassis from 2016 and up are having lots of DEF head failures. Not just a DutchStar thing.... but affecting the chassis.

Here is just one sample thread to check out....many more if you do a search

DEF head derate

No one ever posts pictures of the DS with the slides retracted (or any coach for that matter). How do you find the ability to get to the 1/2 bath, or access the kitchen while closed up? How much room does a large dog have to get down the isle? I suppose this is very dependent on furniture arrangement so any insight is helpful. For example, does it help if you turn the recliners sideways while closed up to increase isle width?

Hi - Watch any of Angie's NIRVC videos. She almost always shows with slides in and out. Floorplan and choice of furniture does make a difference. Went from the '18 to the '20 because we were ready to change. Nothing that would make us like one more than the other. Do think the shower in the '20 was better and the dash in the Spartan was an improvement.

We have a 19 4369 DS with 20,000 miles and have not experienced any wind noise around the door. We have 2 recliners and if you turn them side ways it will increase the room, but on short trips I will not turn them and can still access the kitchen and bath. This is my 5th MH and I am very pleased with it.

We replaced our 2014 Tiffin Allegro Bus with our current 2019 DS 4369. The ride and noise levels are significantly better with the DS, and I thought they were pretty good with the Bus. Now my wife and I can actually carry on a conversation while driving down the road. I guess that's a good thing....

Getting to the kitchen and half-bath with the slides pulled in is not an issue. Again, better than it was with the Bus because the Bus had that L-shaped couch that stuck out more into the walkway when closed. We also travelled in the Bus with our 180-lb Great Dane. He generally just laid on the couch while in motion so he was out of the way. Sadly, we lost him before switching to the DS.

We've owned our DS for almost a year and as soon as our house sells we will be going full-time. So far it's been a great coach.

Run in the other direction? There are a dozen people behind you that will grab it if it is priced appropriately. For the size, quality and price it will be good long-term coach for you. Might not be perfect. Might still be kinks to iron out. But nothing in this industry will be perfect.

Tom
Thanks Tom. Found Angie's video as well as got pictures from a dealer for a 4369 with the two couch option vs the recliners. The recliners do make it a bit tight if they aren't turned sideways. The unit we are looking at has the two couches.
