VERY APT Observation.....We buy fuel with either the "Mudflap" or the "TDS/Open Road" apps.. & "Stay Put" for a Month at a time... Just ONE Fill Up equals One Month+ at a KOA....

Just cancelled SD trip

Just cancelled a month out to SD in September. Somewhat because of fuel prices but mostly because we’ve decided to move to Florida permanently and need to sell our home in Wisconsin. Planning a southwest trip once we get back to Florida in the fall.

This past week, I drove from Fort Myers, FL to Gunnison, CO. I did not notice a shortage and on average, paid $5.65 a gallon. I think the most I paid was $5.85.

I haven't seen a DEF shortage yet but I do know that if there ever is one it would be a catastrophe for the US economy. Can you imagine the entire trucking industry derated to 5 MPH? The EPA really botched it by mandating the derate punishment scheme. This needs to be undone.

No shortages of either fuel or def in the Midwest. Prices are in the mid to high $5 range for fuel.

We cancelled all summer travel because of high fuel prices. We can afford it, but refuse to participate in this crazy economy. Will work on the 5er doing maint and upgrades instead and be ready to go out again when more reasonable parties get hold of the economy.

Not defending the EPA, but my understanding is that they stipulated a derate that was noticeable, not 5 mph. Could have been 50. Last I read there is a rewrite, but like all things government it's something like 2025 or 2027 before taking effect. I can't recall exactly but I don't think it removes a noticeable derate, but gives more clarification.

Diesel fuel prices

I’m in a 41 day adventure from MD to OR, WY, MT, SD, CO and then back to MD. Currently am in CO and have seen a range of diesel prices from $6.09 to $5.23. Lowest price has been SD and CO.

Prices should start coming down significantly mid to late November.

Just returned from an RV camping trip to Palomar Mtn. At Horizon Gas in Valley Center (CALIFORNIA!) I saw regular gas showing at $5.56 a gallon. The Horizon fuel facility was huge! Biggest gas station I have ever seen! Cars, RV's, etc. linked up at the pumps.

I am confused! Why $5.56 and everywhere else showing a dollar more?! Something is very right or very wrong.

Cut our stay short at Palomar Mtn. because I had no more places on my body for the mosquitos to bite!
