Anyone Change out the Dometic Toilet flush panel

We find them hard to see at night fumbling around to find the flush button.

I see this new one available with lighted buttons called MF-DFS

I think these are standard on 2020 models now and would be a nice addition matching the other light controls.

I checked on this last week when I was at Newmar.

First, the new panels are “touchless” so you just wave your hand...nice, but it’ll cost you about $150 for the panel.

Second, they’re NOT plug and play. The sizing is different.

As to the wiring..well..never got that far due to the above. I like my silicone stick-ons. ;-)

Simple unplug, drill larger hole, plug and play

I absolutley love this mod. Was expensive, but it is one that I use several times a day, but only once at night tho.

Here's a less expensive mod. Just press one of these little guys over the flush button. Eady to find in the dark by feel.

Redbaron: Did you need to replace the control cable behind the panel, or does the old cable plug into the new one? It looks like a panel is available without the “hand wave” option, did you check that out? Thanks for info. I’m going to replace two control panel in my ‘18 DSDP.

The cable is the same, a simple rj45 connector.

The box part that is counter sunk is square on the new ones, and about twice the size of the old.
I used a jig saw to expand the hole that was already there.

Did both your toilets have the same control panel? My 19' has different ones in each bath.

One panel per toilet. They are both wired the same.

In my 4369, the mid stool location for the panel did not have enough room for the larger controller, so I did not change it.

This is on my list for the winter while in storage. Have the parts, just need to get in there and enlarge the holes and install. Should be an easy swap.

At this stage of my life I do not want to add more gadgets to fix an issue that is a factory like upgrade via a simple plug and play replacement.

I certainly mean this in a very light hearted way.

Cost really is not an issue when it comes to my baby

I went ahead and ordered 2 panels at the cost of 389.00 with free shipping and no tax, and will be installing them.

It is a drop of water in the ocean of dollars I have already invested.

I was just wondering if any of you have already done this upgrade.

This is a wonderful community and I really appreciate all of your participation in this thread.

Ted.

"Vickie 4369".....Does your coach have the vacuflush toilets? That panel says it's for vacuflush models. I'm not familiar with the Ventana toilets.
