Aqua Hot vs. Hydronic heating. What’s better?

All, I’m excited about getting our new Dutch Star 4018 with Hydronic heating. But I research a lot on RVing and want to know what people who have experience in both to tell me what’s better.

Aqua hot IS hydronic heating. Aqua hot is a brand name....hydronic heating is the generic term for heating by hot water.

The company that makes Hydro-Hot just changed the name to Aqua-Hot.....almost same product.

Oasis is the other brand of hydronic heating system.

You mean Oasis which is Hydronic heating. Newmar does not use Aqua Hot. Oasis is great when it's working. I've had two failures on this trip on my 2016 Dutch.

Msobie, depending on where you are reading here's my interpretation of the difference.

For the fan/radiators in the coach both the Oasis and the Aqua-hot do the same thing. Electric elements or diesel/propane heat up the boiler fluid that flows to the radiators. The Oasis has dual heat elements vs the normal Aqua-hot single element.

On some brands like Entegra the Aqua-hot also circulates boiler heat to the floors to heat the floors. On Newmar, if you have the option installed, they use electric heat in the floors. Primary difference is that the Newmar floors will come up to full heat in a couple of hours while it can take 12+ hours to get to full heat on the Aqua-hot floors. The fluid is hot but needs to warm both the wood under flooring as well as the tiles. Entegra underfloor is something like 3/4 or more thick so simply takes longer.

Your new coach will have the OASIS System and they both will require maintenance as any heating system will.
Its best to check the heating system in fall before any deep freeze shows up so you know its ready.

I have had both. The AquaHot in a '07 Essex and now the Oasis in the '13 King Aire. I think both are good products however, the Oasis is less finicky and easier to maintain in my opinion.

The Oasis does not have to pressurize the fuel to mist it, which the AquaHot does. Instead the it uses a venture with compressed air drawing the fuel to the nozzle. This reduces nozzle servicing compared with that of the AQ.

Both product manufacturers are excellent at servicing their customers.

Some models of AquaHot have more than one electric element. My 600D has two elements but I gave to run the gen or be on a 50 amp service to use both.

The heat transfer coil for $2,500 and pump for loop two. ITR paid for the pump so labor was under two hundred. By the way, nothing worked when the pump went out and the switch on the fuse panel did nothing.
