Are diesels really Modified Sine Wave inverters?
Looking at the specs of the new diesels on the Newmar website, and the Dutch Star, Ventana and Ventana LE all show as having a Modified Sine Wave......as opposed to a Pure Sine Wave inverter.
Is that true, and if so, are Pure Sine Wave inverters available as an option?

Yes, depending on the model and if it is an all electric. Yes, you can request it and pay extra. Do it. It is definitely a benefit.

With the Ventana and Dutch Star, as soon as you get a residential refrigerator, you get a 2000w Pure Sine Wave inverter. All electric gives you a 2800w Pure Sine Wave inverter. I'm not familiar with the Ventana LE offerings.

If believe even in the LE line you get a pure sine wave inverter with the residential refrigerator option, but it is only a 2k PSW inverter (versus the aforementioned 2.8k in the higher models).

That makes sense since the Ventana and DS with only a residential refer get the 2k and the LE doesn't offer an all electric option.
The residential refer probably doesn't like a MSW AC source.
I'd always opt for a PSW over MSW. Many electronics aren't happy with a MSW.

Oh this makes sense now, thank you.
I didn't look far enough into the appliances to realize that a RR wasn't standard.....but if you option up to a RR, then you also get the PSW inverter.
Two 'options' that should be standard as far as I"m concerned.

Even with the all electric option you do not get AGM batteries. These are not even listed as a standard option so you have to ask for these as a special.

That is correct. I added 8 AGM's as a special to my 2015 All Electric Ventana.
