I never lubricate the external square tubing of my Atwood Levelegs. There is grease inside on a long threaded rod.
If the jack appears bent, it could very well be binding. The retracting jack normally shuts off because of stalled motor overcurrent reading. The length of travel does not effect where it auto stops.
All the best with this issue. Last summer a part in one of my Leveleg jacks failed. Atwood has been purchased by Lippert. Lippert told me on the phone, they no longer offer any support for my Atwood Levelegs system. Lippert told me I would need to purchase an entire 4 jack system. It's disappointing to say the least.
