Why do you want to do that?
My 16' Carefree Fiesta manual awning has been trouble free for 19 years.

Completely different awning for electric. You would probably need to get a new awning.
Many times I wish I still had my old manual awning. Manual awnings are much stronger than electric.

Awning
Have always had electric awning. Age has got me lazy and not sure if I have the strength to put the manual in and out often. Real, easy to push a button. So wife said perhaps we could switch it out????????

Yes, we do it all the time. If the roller tube and fabric is in good condition, then it makes since. I prefer to use carefree even if the existing awning is dometic, imo its a stronger assembly.
I too was a skeptic when electric arms first came out, saw quite a few problems it seemed at the time. But most of the problems were installation issues, some design issues, those have been corrected and currently you don't see many issues (other then a incorrect install). I think the eclipse arms are the better choice for most, other then cost ($1200 pair) the travel'r arms are much cheaper and also a good choice with less features and a little less mass to the arms. (Not quite the same quality) I will say that after we(I) installed electric arms on our personal coach the awning gets used ALOT more. Stop at the grocery store and it's raining, open the awning. Kinda getting some wind but not enough for the sensor setting and not sure, close the awning. Now wind is gone, open the awning. I think you see where I'm going, now she has the ability to do what she wants when she wants! Life is good!

awning
Thanks for the replies. Anyone have an idea of the installation cost? May as well do the upgrades with the wind sensor and remote.
Also any other opinions on the performance of the Eclipse Arms fitted to my existing awning???
Thanks and Merry Christmas
