Awning lights shorted out on Dutchstar 4369

We were forced to upgrade after the dealer burned down our 2015/4081 and the 2020 is great. However the strip of “bright as the sun” lights in the awning shorted out about four inches from the start. Any ideas on repair would be appreciated.

Awning lights shorted out on Dutchstar 4369

Uhhh what dealer torched your rig???

The leds are fairly simple to replace if you are somewhat hand with crimping. I would figure out first how to disable the wind sensors on the shades. Trace the positive and negative leads to the strip itself. The lights are simply glue in, usually with silicone. Start stripping them out. Replace and reconnect/solder the new ones to the wire leads and resilicone. Put some tape over the lights to hold in place. Most 12v led strips are cut to length. Get some RGB ones you can control color and brightness. Or find someone that sells boogey lights and have them do it. Wouldn’t be but a few hundred bucks.

Relatively straight forward. Good luck!
