I did it myself. Fairly easy. Take the left end cap off, a few screws and cut the wires. Then there are maybe three screws that hold the awning in place, take those out and the awning slides out of the track. I'm trying to remember what I did, but it entailed talking the motor off and the piece that attaches to the awning is stripped. I don't remember where I got it or how much it cost. I Googled it and found the part. I originally brought it to a Newmar dealer and they wanted to sell me a new awning.

The fitting on the end of the roller tube that connects to the motor shaft has stripped. The motor shaft is "D" shaped and the fitting has a "D" shaped hole that the shaft fits into. The fitting is made of pot metal and eventually rounds out so the motor spins without rotating the roller tube.

I have the same problem with our AE Oasis Elite awning. I have tried other fixes but they didn't work satisfactorily. Just yesterday, I ordered that fitting from Fiamma in Orlando (the original manufacturer) to fix it properly. The part was $75 + $10 shipping. Part #04839-01. 1-407-672-0091 ask for Kelly

We had a 04 Essex we purchased new and after 14 years we still had the original awning and slide out toppers. Used 303 on them every other year and the coach was outside at all times.
