My back up alarm has stopped working when I am reverse. I have 2016 Ventana. Anyone have any ideas where to start checking?
Thanks
Matt

I don't know where the alarm ( horn ) is mounted on your coach , but finding the wring and cleaning the ground wire would be first step .
Had to do mine 3 times in 10 years. Next time ground wire is getting extended all the way to the battery.

Mine quit last year and I had it fixed at Freightliner, Gaffney. The horn was bad, R&R was $65. The horn is located on the web of an I beam running left to right at the right rear of the coach. Look for a square box looking thingy with 2 wires on 2 posts. Not the easiest thing to see or to work on.

On our 18 LA we keep blowing 20AMP fuses and ended up putting at 25 fuse in and no more blowing fuses.

My back up alarm went out a few months back. On my 2015 Ventana it's located at the rear of the coach just above the trailer receiver. I removed the old one and applied 12 V to the terminals to confirm it was bad. Bought a Mirkoo 107db 12v back up alarm on Amazon & it's been working fine.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but I am thinking of disconnecting my back up alarm or maybe putting a switch on it. When I put my coach away I have to back up about 250 feet into a metal carport/garage and it gets somewhat annoying listening to it. My spotter, (wife) says it is painful to be in the garage when I am pulling in.

Also have to guess that backing into a campsite at 2am would not make you a popular neighbor with the alarm on.

Nothing mysterious about mine. I unplugged the thing. No more complaints from my DW. That thing is LOUD.

As previously stated, the box is a square thing mounted close to the receiver hitch, only higher. The wires on mine attach to the back-up-light wires. Check your connection and ground wire first. The replacement, if required, is easy to find online. About $25-30 or so.
Just my opinion--if the back-up alarm is disabled and you run over/in to something, it would be hard to justify shutting it off. I think they are a requirement. Noisy and a nuisance for sure. You decide.

We had the same issue with our back up alarm when backing into our garage. A couple of pieces of duct tape will muffle the sound enough so its not ear splitting when backing into the garage but still loud enough to be heard if your near the coach.

Thinking of a switch as well. I assume the alarm is energized by the same circuit that illuminates the B/U lights? That might make it difficult to segregate just the alarm for switching. Any idea where to find an appropriate wire under the dash to break into in order to wire a switch that would delete the alarm but retain reverse lights?
I'm willing to risk that somebody is not going to notice my coach bearing down on them as I position in a site when arriving at an unreasonably late hour, as we often do in order to make weekend journeys possible. If I squish somebody or something, it's on me and that irritating noise would not have prevented it - although the noise could negatively impact the attention of my spotter or myself for that matter. After our normal safety checks, there won't be anybody in the "danger zone," but that alarm will awaken everything within a half dozen campsite radius, if the growl of the ISL does not. I'm okay with purposeful and prudent switching.
