Backup Light Bulb Replacement

Does anyone know how to replace the light bulb for the backup lights on either side of the licence plate? We have a 2005 Mt. Aire. There is a small hole in the fibreglass which gives access to the rear of the light, but I don’t want force removal of the bulb and the hole isn’t that large. Typically, that type of socket twists and pulls out.

I’ve tried twisting and pulling, but the access and visibility is limited. I don’t want to break anything. I was able to get this picture using a selfie stick. Who says they aren’t cool?

Looks like a 1/4 turn CCW should do it.
Happy Glamping.

Both replies are correct but, the fixture is a bit of a POS. when I went to replace mine it basically fell apart. Newmar didn't break the bank on their light fixtures,. The tailight bulb sockets are of the same quality. IMHO

How do you remove the entire light assembly from outside of the engine compartment or is this not advisable?

Yup, 1/4 turn CCW did it. Without knowing I didn’t want to apply too much force. It was a bit of a puzzle to get the bulb and socket through the small opening in the fibreglass.

Glad you got it. We always used to say that the best mechanics were the ones with the broken and crooked fingers! they could reach around corners better.
