Bad tasting / smelling water

Hello All
Would like some advice—Drive a 2017 King Aire the water coming from the kitchen sink and the hot water tap in the kitchen have a sulfur water smell “rotten Eggs” I have noticed two water filter under the farm style sink— would changing those help—-
Also the pen water lines are routed by the heater ducting in the Kitchen would insulating these lines help with the problem. Any one else been down this road

change all of the filters. make sure you get carbon block so it will help with the taste. Good Luck

If you are on internal water you need to flush it and sanitize everything. If you are on city water the well may have it. Look it up on the internet to learn more about how to get rid of it.

It sounds like you just need to sanitize the water lines with some bleach. Many articles about it online. I had the same problem last year when I bought my used RV. Bad smelling water coming out from mainly the hot water lines.

Most likely need to replace anode in water heater, easy to do. Identify model of heater, buy compatable anode and swap out. Make sure water is off when you take anode out.

This issue has been discussed many times on iRV2. Usually, it comes about after using water in a campground that has well water with a higher sulphur content. If you then park your rig for a week or two or three with the CG water in the system, the sulphur begins to react with the anode rod in your hot water heater resulting in the rotten egg smell.
You may get rid of it by draining the hot water heater and do a though flush, hook up to "City" water supply, remove all water filter elements and run copious amounts of water through the system. Fill and drain the water tank.

If the smell persists, the same treatment but use a bleach solution in the heater and let it sit for a couple hours before doing a flush.

I second both suggestions above. You may also have a separate filter right under the sink faucet area that a lot of people don't know about.

King Aire's don't have a hot water heater with an anode rod. They have a heat exchanger in the Oasis system.

You need to change your under-sink filter annually if not more often. You need to change the water bay filter more often, depending on the quality of the park water you're getting. Redid my water bay to add an additional filter canister, and had a 5micron sediment filter plus a carbon block filter.

OP didn't mention where they are, but can certainly attest to sulfer/salt content in ground water here in sunny SW FL it's nasty. Whole house RO or carry the bottles up the stairs, chose whro.
Would guess local sites could be on city water, but maybe not?

Thank you undersink filters may be offender also problem is with kitchen sink not in other areas but will still treat main water source

Where is the coming from your tank or park? Sometimes park water is well water, if is from you thank you may need to sanitize it, when connected to park water I always connect first to my double filter (sediment and carbon) and to a water softener.

Hydrogen peroxide alone or bleach both work well

Using two carbon base filters if you are on high sulphkwater which often has iron bacteria will help, second filter for taste and odor

90 days is maximum filter time on bad water

1 oz peroxide to10 gal water approximately

Sulphur and iron bacteria along with high TDS will consume the anode quickly so as noted check it
