Balanced Tires?

I'm wondering whether Newmar balances the tires on new built units, and if so, with what method? Thought I would throw the question out to our members in lieu of asking Newmar.

Tires are spec'd by Newmar , and supplied as part of the rolling chassis , delivered by Freightliner or Spartan. I'm 90% certain they would be spin balanced by either chassis supplier.
But ! I've been wrong before.

I don't recall ever seeing any external weights on any 22.5 aluminum wheels.

My 2013 did not have any factory balance done. I installed wheel balancer and had the external weights done on the steer tired as well. 40k miles and they still drive smooth!

As Skip426 stated when chassis are delivered to Newmar, the wheels and tires are already mounted.
The chassis mfg. have precision wheel and tire mounting equipment which insures centering within 15 thousandths and very little weight is required if any. The balancing issues arise when the replacement/repair shop folks start at your tires with those pry bars. If a tire goes down during or after chassis delivery guess who gets fix it?

Hi Lug_Nut,
You may not see any weights. The weights may be placed on the inside flat part of the wheel. There is enough room to place the weights in the center of the wheel. This is how mine have been done.

I replaced my front 3 yrs ago and am about to get the rear ones replaced (6). So I should ask for balancing? External weights? Am getting quotes right now, about $600 for Toyos and $800 for Michelin XRV, both exact same specs. Prices include installation... (Front are Michelin). Wondering...

Yes, I guess they well could be installed where you would not notice them. I guess I wondered if in fact they are done at new.

I used Dynbeads when I replaced the tires on my previous coach. They worked well. I would go that route again.
