Basement Door Cable Release

At least one of my basement doors latches has a cable that is beginning to fray.

Other than buying a replacement from Newmar, is there a better fix?

Back 2 years ago when I went to add crimps onto the end of all my cables to prevent them slipping through the set screw I noticed that 2 of my cables were too short.

I looked at all kinds of Amazon options that I could ***make*** work but decided to bite the bullet and call Newmar.

To my pleasant surprise they were like $1 each and my order arrived in 3-4 days with minimal shipping costs.

If you call Newmar they have 2 different lengths so make sure you know which you want. If I ever need more I will call Newmar again.

Baggage door release cable

Thanks for the quick reply.

The 3.5" version (part #115017) is now up to $2.54 from Newmar, but still a good deal. I'm going to look at all of my basement doors and replace all the questionable cables and keep 2 spare ones on hand.
