Basement Fridge - Freezer
Can someone tell me how tall the basement fridge is. Our coach is prepped for one, and I want to put a shelf above the pull out for the fridge, and still have room to install it later. Thanks

depends on which coach/basement refer you get. on our dsdp the standard one is a 'medium' size, but it arrived at dealer doa. Newmar replaced with a 'large' size (std in MA, LA, and up?) which I thought was great to start with (a free upgrade, how could that be bad?), but since it has literally zero headroom, I've become not a fan. wish we had the medium. Anyone want to trade?

I just ended up buying the size I wanted (Dometic makes several) along with a slide out tray made for the unit. This one holds 4 cases of beer if needed... I added a 4 way receptacle to power it and have a few extra outlets if needed. Plenty of room for storage for table, corn hole set, and fan.

How much extra room? Are you concerned that you have no extra room above to make a shelf or some other issue? Thanks

This is what I did - I went from an old DSDP with a fridge/freezer to a Canyon Star. So size was important for the smaller place I had for the fridge/freezer in the basement.
As mentioned, Dometic makes several sizes and you can see these all on Amazon, where the unit measurements are noted.
We ended up with a nice size unit - won't hold four cases of beer but will hold enough to where I can no longer drive safely......LOL
Good luck and Happy New Year...

Basement Fridge - Freezer
I have a 2018 4327 DSDP on a Spartan chassis. The shelf is perfect for this type of ladder.

Thanks for your help. Did you move or turn the outlets on the right side so you have the 6 3/4" shelf? I would like 7" for both my ladder and corn hole bags game.

We have the larger refer/freezer unit in our MADP and, while we don't carry a ladder, we find the space behind the unit to be a perfect storage spot for the small, folding table that we do carry. I'm guessing a ladder would also fit back there.

I did not move the outlet, I made a cut out in the shelf for it. I used 3/4” plywood for the shelf, maybe if you used 1/4” sheet metal that would gain you an extra 1/2”. Plus there is room behind the cooler and to the side. You wouldn’t want to pack to much on the right side because that is where the fan is.

I think I lost about 5 or 6 inches of headroom. Otherwise the footprint of the two are identical with some room behind and to the right. Also I just don’t find I need that big of a frig/freezer.
