Just wondering if when the furnace is running if the basement compartments are heated? One of the RV'rs in the park here said he thought so. But I haven't seen any ducks yet, but haven't looked real carefully. If there is no heat, I see some use small electric heaters near the water/sewer & holding tank compartments. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gary G.,
If you have the forced air propane furnace, look in the upper left corner of the utility bay. There should be a switch for:
Basement Heater Blower Fan
Water Pump

If the basement heater fan is to be used, push in the top of the switch. If the fan is not to be used push in the bottom of the switch. The fan will operate the same as the furnace.

No wonder you don't see any ducks, they have already gone south for the winter. They're showing up V in the sky down here now.

X2, and with the switch turned on the basement will be toasty for sure.

But only if you use the furnace. We have heat pumps or we use cube heaters. None of that heat gets to the wet bay.

Gary as they have said you should have a switch marked furnace in water bay and when its on the 12V fan will cycle as the furnace cycle's on and off.
I can see the foil tube in my water tank bay and the fan inside the tube drivers side..

I have searched high and low in the utility bays and can't seem to locate it. I know this rig has the gas furnace. Could that option have been not ordered when the coach was built? Could it be located in another location?

Can't do right now but mine is to the left of the water line hook ups,water bay, on the black panel marked furnace.
There use to be a winter option, but that was on older coach's, would think it was standard on yours as my 03 KS gas coach.

I have an 04 MA 3778 and would like to find this also. Is it possible this switch/feature was used on the DP MA only and not the Gas models that I think the OP has like me?

Here is a thread about adding a 12V fan for heating the basement tanks.
It Could be wired off furnace fan with a switch you locate someplace when your in warmer temps.
Here is another thread as to where you may find the 12V motor in foil tube,
It could be the feature was dropped after 03 year.

mine is also in the water cabinet, in the upper left hand side.

If you have the MH's ID numbers I'll bet Newmar could tell you if your home has basement heat and where the switch is

I'm not sure what year Newmar stopped using the switch, as my 2007 DSDP did not have one.

If there is no switch, then heat always goes to the water bay when ever the furnace is running.

They all have basement heat.

Go to Basement Heater Switch - iRV2.com RV Photo Gallery to see a picture of the switch. Like Dirk said, if there is no switch one will get basement heat whenever the furnace is running. Consider looking up and under the white wall that holds the utility bay controls. One might see the large duct coming into the bay.
