Dan, I camp by myself, wife hates camping, and have learned to go 15 to 19 days before I need to dump and refill fresh water tank. Propane lasts from May til after Labor Day. I refuel and refill propane then and am good for the 20 degree nights til about mid-Oct and it is time to go home to 100+ So. Calif.

We full time (no house & no apartment) in our 3710 Canyon Star. It is just as comfortable to full time in as our previous diesel coaches thanks to dual pane windows, the additional roof insulation option, large carrying capacity (26k chassis), big holding tanks etc. We did upgrade to CG2 batteries (4) and changed the bed outlets to run off the TV inverter for my CPAP machine. We dry camp often so added a battery monitor and eventually will add solar - prewired option on the coach. It is also worthwhile to upsize the converter if you significantly add batter capacity so you can shorten the recharge time to complete bulk charging.

We do take it off road - primarily in the desert (Quartzite) and Forest Service campgrounds. We take the car ahead to check out locations in advance to make sure of the ground conditions, clearances etc. The storage compartments are much larger than a travel trailer. Most full timers we know run either a class A or fifth wheel. You can full time in a C or B or travel trailer but you will have to travel much lighter. A full tank of water plus the two of us and all our stuff is 3k pounds. We are probably in the middle of the weight range for full timers.

Yes! They help with both heat insulation but sound too. IMHO, they are a must have.

We absolutely love our 2016 3124. King bed, plenty of room. Great storage, the list goes on

I would never be able to afford a new Baystar.
When its time to upgrade I will be looking at 4 or 5 year old model.

No. We should have. I didn't realize how hot the rest of the country is in summer

Same here. But plenty of places we end up are way over 100.

We have a Baystar Sport that is just under 29 ft. We love the fit and finish of the coach. We also love being able to get into almost any campsite. We've been up to Alaska on a nine week trip and have logged over 15k miles and 91 nights in just over a year. We are planning another 9 week trip in May to the Great Lakes region. It's just DW and I and we are fine with the Baystar most of the time, but I can't see us full timing in this coach due to storage constraints. We have discussed the possibility of traveling a little more and come to the conclusion that if we get beyond 120 nights per year, we will probably upgrade to something in the 35-37 foot range.

Ours is built on a 20,500 lb chassis that has 19.5 tires. I think if you are considering full timing, you would want to have at least the 22,000 lb chassis which has 22.5 tires. The extra three inches is added to all of the outside storage bins which makes them larger and much more accessible. It would also mean that you would be up-sizing the length by a couple of feet, which if full timing, would be important.

That 3124 is pretty nice! Spent the afternoon today climbing in and out of a slew of travel trailers and 4 different Newmars. LOL Not sure what Ventana model I was in but HOLY COW!!!.......that thing was incredible. Too big for me, but incredible.

Anyway, the Bay Star has me thinkin'.......
