Bay star leveler interferes with starter

My 2019 Baystar Sport refused to start & my leveler was beeping & flashing (low battery light). The lifts were up & system was shut off. I had to jump the chassis & house batteries to get it started. Is this normal? Later, parked & with shore power disconnected: chassis was 13.3V & house was 12.8V. These too low? Do I need to change all 3 batteries??
Thanks, Harry

It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize that you are in a hurry.

Harry; I wouldn't worry about the house batteries, the chassis battery is another story. your experience with starting is what makes me wonder about the chassis battery. The 12,8 voltage says I may be ok, but not having the reserve to lift the jacks and then start the engine tells me your battery may be reaching the end of its life. The first thing to check is going to be connections, makes sure they are clean and tight. then load testing of the battery itself. Load testing will tell if the battery has a bad cell or internal short under load. It is fair to say that if your chassis battery is more than 5 years old there is a good chance it's done.

Thanks Dave. The only thing I haven’t done is a chassis battery load test. I was on the phone with Newmar and, at their direction, I checked all parts of the system with my multimeter & no surprises. The disturbing part of the incident(s) is that the Equalizer leveler system seemed to interfere with (disable) engine startup….worrisome.

Our levelers began acting similarly. Started coach and control box for levelers came on, flashing and beeping, and would not shut off unless we pushed "retract". Even though they were already retracted. In our case, the solenoid was bad. Had it replaced and everything worked normally.
